VIN NOE ALLOCATION

by Fionn Reidy

HIYA,

Thanks for clicking through. As promised we have access to a small allocation of Jonathan’s more premium wines. These are very very good. They strike the perfect balance between the new-wave ‘natural’ producers and the more classic, time-tested styles. The vineyard sites are historic, whilst the winemaking is thoughtful and patient. Sulphur is non-existent, but these are clean, stable, and strikingly pure.

Whilst in the early days, 2023 is looking to be a very good vintage here. There's nice ripeness but with more acidity than the scorcher in 2022. We've got plenty of freshness that makes them immediately approachable but also with acidity and structure to go the distance. A perfect vintage? Only time will tell, but I think it's looking promising.

The pricing on these is always pretty hectic; even in Beaune, they aren’t cheap. Well, I’ve done my best to slash margins as thin as possible to ensure that people can get these if they want, at a slightly less eyewatering price. Thank me later. Anyway, if you’d like any of these, just flick me an email - wine@parched.wine with your wishes, and I’ll work my magic.

Here's what we can do:

Saint Aubin, La Combe 1er Cru, Shadows Chardonnay 2023 - £150
These 2023 now all see at least two years in barrel, undisturbed and unsulphited. This has brought further complexity and tension to already pretty mind bending bottles. 0.4ha Premier Cru, northeast-facing with heavy clay. Foot-crushed, direct press, and sent to barrel for extended élevage. Potentially a bottle or two of 2022 if you’re also keen.

Saint Aubin, Chatenière 1er Cru, Sauvage Chardonnay 2023 - £155
From a tiny 0.2ha parcel planted by JJ Morel in the early 2000s, the site had been abandoned since the 1930s. Adjacent to the cellar with southwest exposure and red clay over limestone. Also, extended elevage. If you want a 2022, ask very nice.

Puligny-Montrachet, Le Trézin, Superposition Chardonnay 2023 - £170
Again extended elevage 0.2ha parcel high up in Puligny. Clay and limestone soils with plenty of marl. 75 years old vines. Puligny weight, but such energy on show. Unbelievably good. Again, ask very nice for a 2022.

Beaune, La Fontaine Pinot Noir 2022 / 2023 - £80
Debuting with the 2022 vintage. Formerly from the Buisson family, located near the pine forests on the Pommard side of Beaune. Organically farmed for 15 years using milk, nettle, and biodynamic preps. 10-day semi-carbonic maceration. Drinkin’ like a dream now.

Côtes de Nuits, Côte de Night Pinot Noir 2023 - £85
Pinot Noir from 60-year-old vines in Corgoloin, purchased from Camille Thiriet. Previously managed organically, now stepped up to biodynamics. East-facing site with sandy, gravelly, clay soils. Dry carbonic fermentation for 10 days, then pressed and aged 9 months in barrel.

Pommard, Rêve Américain Pinot Noir 2021 / 2022 / 2023 - £115
From three parcels: the largest is Les Noizons (above 1er Cru Les Pezerolles), plus Croix Blanche and Poisot. Low yields, old vines. 10 days semi-carbonic vinification in stainless steel, sugars finished in old barrels and aged for 9 months.
