Charlie Herring, Charlie Don't Surf 2019
Place: Kent, England
Grape: Seyval Blanc
Vibe: Unique
The inaugural release, from some of the UK’s oldest planted vines, dating back to 1975. Made using the traditional method, with a natural fermentation of the base wine and zero sulphur additions. After five years on lees, it was disgorged in January this year with a 4 g/L dosage.
Seyval Blanc, given time and the benefit of autolysis, proves to be a magical drinking experience. Trust me. If you haven’t had the pleasure before, now’s your chance. Tiny allocation. 11%
