Stéphane’s path into wine was shaped early on by time spent with the legendary Foucault family. That experience was enough to pull him away from his day job and into viticulture full-time. He later worked alongside Antoine Foucault of Domaine du Collier a close friend and neighbour whose influence is very much felt through the range. Cyril Fhal of the brilliant Clos du Rouge Gorge is also a mentor.

Based in Saint-Cyr-en-Bourg, near Saumur and Chacé, Stéphane farms just over 3ha in the schist, coal-rich soils of Saint-Georges-sur-Layon (Anjou Noir). In the cellar, a beautiful underground tuffeau cave, his winemaking is hands off. Gravity, gentle handling, and long élevage being central to the house style.
