Domaine de la Loue, Vin Jaune 2017
Place: Jura, France
Grape: Savagnin
Vibe: Oxy
Fruit from the south-east facing Sous La Roche. Pretty cool lieu-dit! Plenty of unicorns have come from these special soils... this might be another. One large barrel, six years of patience. The result? Dried fruit, salted nuts, and so much spice. Chiseled and salivating. I’m seriously impressed with the '17 yellow wines I’ve tasted. For those who say you can’t taste terroir or vintage in oxidative wines, I implore you to give this a go. Breathtaking. ABV: 12.5%
