It took me far too long to clock what the name was a nod to. Can't blame me, I was too busy being intoxicated by arguably the world's greatest Gamay. That very special lieu-dit, somehow taken to dizzying new heights. About as serious as it gets. Only made in exceptional years, released when deemed ready. Still pretty young right now, even for a nearly eight-year-old wine. Very much built for the long haul and from experience can easily go another twenty plus. I cracked into one from my personal stash from Paris over the weekend. If you're impatient, give it a decant and a nice glass. There's still lovely fruit but that truffle and mushroom stuff is just starting to poke its head above ground. Iconic for good reason. ABV: 14.5%
