Les Pièces comes from a tiny plot called L’Aubière, just 0.5 hectares in size. The east to west facing vineyard was planted in the 1970s on clay rich sands packed with fossils, which are cutely and informatively displayed on the label.

This is only the second ever vintage. Fermentation takes place in barrel with indigenous yeasts, no fining or filtration and minimal sulphur. It then sees a decent stretch on the lees in bottle, followed by an even longer rest before disgorgement in November 2024. IFYKYK. ABV 12%
