Icy Liu, Mercurey Komorebi 2024
Place: Burgundy, France
Grape: Pinot Noir
Vibe: Natural, lighter
I really, really wanted to taste Icy's wines for some time. When I did they didn't disappoint. Fluid yet flavoursome. These are featherweight in structure but defo not on flavour. Vines planted in 2001 from "Roc Blanc" in Mercurey, a parcel that is southeast-facing with calcareous sandy marl. Lots of pink peppercorn and a little forest floor. Vibrant and effortless. Just the 591 bottles on the entire planet. Rare as.
