After passing the baton of Le Casot des Mailloles into the capable hands of Jordi Perez, Alain Castex retained a small selection of vineyards, from which he continued to craft the classic wines for which he was best known. Before founding Le Casot 15 years ago, Alain spent 15 years working in the Corbières region and is widely considered as pioneer of the 'natural' wine movement.

Under the label Les Vins du Cabanon, he kept his vineyards in Trouillas and continued producing Canta Mañana, Ezo, Tir à Blanc, and Poudre d’Escampette. Alain sadly passed away in 2023, making these wines all the more precious.
