Melsheimer, Riesling Trocken 2022

Considering this is just the estate Riesling, they've truly outdone themselves. Painstakingly slow, cool ferments and extended time in barrel have given us a strikingly pure expression of site and grape. There's a smoky, sesame-like reduction, almost Styrian in feel, before the full Riesling spectrum takes centre stage. Think wet stones and slate. Yes, “minerality” is overused… but please, just see here. ABV: 11%
