Michel Autran is somewhat of a rising star of Vouvray. Previously a GP, Michel left his old career in 2006 and spent a few years gaining some hands-on experience with some of the best vignerons of the region before his first vintage in 2013. He carefully selected his vineyards, with the youngest vines being at least 50 years old. Whilst keen to not be labeled a biodynamic grower, he still follows the lunar calendar. Unusually for the appellation, Michel makes exclusively dry wines and harvest sees a vigorous selection to discard any grapes affected by botrytis. Tasty stuff.
