Milan Nestarec, Dopamin NV
Place: Moravia, Czech Republic
Grape: Grüner Veltliner, Chardonnay, Riesling
Vibe: Salty
Such a cool wine. While Milan’s been known for his experimental cuvées, they’ve become more refined in recent years and this really shows both creativity and class.
Drawn from a solera system housed in one of his first-ever Stockinger barrels, it’s got a subtle smokiness that feels almost Canary Islands-esque, yet with an oxidative twang that leans more Jurassic. The fruit is fennel-y and herbal, like something from the South of France. Blind? I’d be absolutely screwed. Mindbendingly good for the curious drinker. ABV: 11.5%
