Parched + Modal Wines present... Yo El Rey

We're hyped to be joined by Angelo van Dyk, not only our wine trade mate but also the talented winemaker behind Yo El Rey wines.

Angelo was born and raised in South Africa, before moving to London to experience everything the UK's wine scene has to offer. A year away to spend time with different winemakers and learn even more turned into seven, during which the decision was made to start making wine back in his home country.

Yo El Rey make wine from fruit sourced from small, organic growers around South Africa's Cape Town, with all wines being made in their winery in Stellenbosch in a low intervention way, prioritising a style of wine that's energetic, bright and ultimately extremely drinkable.
