ONE DOOR CLOSES AND ANOTHER ONE OPENS

G’day,
Lovely morning for it.
In the mad summer rush we took delivery of 1/2 of our annual Domaine de l’Iserand allocation, and now by the time I get around to chirpsing about it, they are 1/2 sold. C’est la vie and all that.
As we enter the months of crisp air, the wines of the Northern Rhone come into their own. New to us is 2025 are a pair of vibey, gastro wines, Grassot, which is mostly gamay, and Primula which is a dialled in Roussanne based blend as well as their ChampsRose which we’ve just been pouring down joyous gullets in the bar. Tastes as good as it looks.
Iserand duo Jeff and Saida are that really annoying combination of super nice people, great cooks and really good winemakers, so we’re stoked to be able to offer out some of their wares. If you’re ever in the region, its a visit not to miss.
As per, the range is singing, so I implore you to do your worst right here.
Wanna catch a hyped vigneron up close and personal, us too. On the 15th of October we’re pumped to announce we have Alexandre Bain in the house, pouring his scintillating anti-Loire-appellation whites.
Based in Pouilly-Fumé, his Sauvignons are about as far away from the textbook definition as you can imagine. We love a producer who eschews the prestige of an appellation to bottle what and how they want, and Alexandre is at the forefront, labelling everything as basic level Vin de France.
Tickets for this tasting are available here, so please join us for a vaguely educational Wednesday evening of nice wine.
And finally, in one of what appears to be the worst kept secrets in wine atm, I’m stoked to announce that Eric Wan and I are opening TEMPO in Bethnal Green later this year. More details will trickle through in the coming weeks, and Parched people will of course have first dibs on the soft opening dates. We’ve managed to find a beautiful space to combine warehouse with boundary pushing wine bar, and the trades are now dusting off their tools.
I’ve been fortunate enough to work on and off with Eric over the past couple of years, with pop-ups and residencies both in Ken’s and Dan’s, as well as watched his work in some of the best wine focussed kitchens around the city. This is progressive South East Asian food that I am desperate to eat 24/7, and it’ll be lovingly served by familiar faces alongside a selection of wine which is largely unparalleled. Basically it’s going to be sweet.
You can follow on socials here, and keep an eye out for reso’s in the near future.
Have a nice one!
Dan
